The Museum of Aviation’s week long Planes and Trains exhibit is going full steam ahead after nearly half a day of work to set it up.
Members of the Middle Georgia Model Railroad Club spent 12 hours Friday piecing the track together for opening day.
The exhibit is a compilation of more than 40 four-foot long sections.
All of the sets belong to individual members and display their unique personalities.
Michael Braden is a member of the Railroad Club and says his section brings a piece of his hometown from the Lone Star state.
“There used to be bakeries and most of them were Sunshine Bakery that used to make sunshine biscuits and cookies. Almost any town that was any size had one, so I put one in there,” said Braden.
The club’s exhibit is located in the Century of Flight hangar. It runs every day, except Thanksgiving, through Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
