UPDATE: The Monroe Count Sheriff's Office released the "possible" identity of a truck driver killed in an accident on Interstate 75 Thursday morning.

The driver might have been Richard Hunter of Anderson, South Carolina.

Monroe County Sgt. Lawson Bittick said the body was burned so severely that investigators need to verity the man's identity through dental records.

The driver of the semi-truck died early Thursday morning after veering off the road and hitting a tree. Monroe County Coroner Joey Proctor says it happened on I-75 southbound near mile post 191 around 5:45 a.m.

Proctor says the truck caught fire and the driver died on the scene.
