'She literally saved my baby's life:' Mom grateful after mystery EMT worker saves her daughter

The mother said if the EMT worker hadn't been there, her daughter could have been brain dead.

MACON — All superheroes do not wear capes.

13WMAZ spoke with Henley Wilder who said a mystery EMT's heroic act of saving her daughter filled her heart with gratitude, and she just wants to say thank you.

Jaye Maree Wilder is your typical toddler.

"Very joyful, very lively, very energetic outgoing, baby," Jaye's mom, Wilder said.

Wilder is the proud mother of the two-year-old, but on Easter Sunday her worst nightmare came true.

"I got a phone call from my mom at work, saying my baby had been in a car wreck and was knocked unconscious, but I had no clue how bad it actually was," Wilder said.

The injury to little Jaye was extensive. Her neck was broken and her spine was injured.

After the accident Wilder said an off-duty EMT worker saw the wreck and jumped into action.

"She pulled her out of the car and she did CPR on her and got her back breathing," Wilder said. "If it wasn't for that, she could have been dead or brain dead, she literally saved her life."

Jaye is now in intense rehab in Atlanta, but her mom is still searching for the person who saved her daughter.

13WMAZ checked with the Bibb County Fire Department, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office and the EMTs at the medical center at Navicent Health, but Meghan Allen with Navicent public relations said none of the EMTs from their hospital responded to that accident.

Now Wilder said she has a message for whoever saved her little girl.

"I'm so so thankful for her, I really feel like I owe her the world, which I can't give her, but I want her to get some recognition for being the angel that she was," Wilder said. "She literally saved my baby's life -- my baby would not be here, or be brain dead because of what she did."

Wilder said her daughter is improving day by day, but gives credit to the EMT who gave her daughter a second chance.

Wilder has started a GoFundMe for Jaye, which you can find here.
