Telfair County drug store employee zip-tied, robbed at gunpoint

LUMBER CITY, Ga. — The GBI’s Eastman office and the Lumber City Police Department are investigating an armed robbery that happened Monday morning.

According to a news release, it happened around 11 a.m. at the Lumber City drug store on East Golden Isles Parkway.

Two armed men wearing camouflage clothing and motorcycle helmets walked in and ordered the owner and an employee to get to the ground.

The employee was zip-tied while the owner was ordered to unlock the safe, as well as hand over opioid pills and liquids.

The two men then left the store on a motorcycle in the direction of Jacksonville, Georgia. The motorcycle, which was stolen out of Lagrange and had a stolen plate from Jacksonville, Florida, was later found abandoned on a dirt road.
