The Society Garden in Ingleside Village will expand soon.
The outdoor beer and wine garden offers beer taps, both local and seasonal, live music, a place for children to play and more.
Now, there will be more space added to those offerings. Brad Evans, who owns the garden with his wife, Meagan, says they are in the process of adding both a covered pavilion and an indoor lounge area and it's been in the works all summer.
Evans says with this new addition, bad weather will no longer be able to stand in their way.
The covered pavilion will be available for folks to rent out and hold private events as well as watch some football.
"We're also going to do a whole indoor space," he added. "It's going to include an indoor lounge and a full bar inside."
The indoor area will open in the basement of the building that was formerly known as Jack and Darcy and includes wide windows that look out at the garden area.
"We're going to have a heater, we're going to have an air conditioner and we're going to have a roof and that's three things that we haven't had here," he said about the changes.
Evans says he and Meagan have been overwhelmed with the support they've received from Macon over the past year in this new venture.
"One of the most rewarding things for us are the crowds we have here; they're just so diverse," he added. "All different kinds of people, all different ages of people and it's just been a great addition to this neighborhood."
The covered pavilion area is expected to be complete within the next few weeks, but everyone will have to wait a month or so to enjoy the indoor additions.
The Society Garden is located at 2389 Ingleside Avenue in Macon. It is open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Fridays from 4 p.m. to midnight, Saturdays from 3 p.m. to midnight and Sundays from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
