Dennis Floyd, the Macon man behind the Christmas van, is using his time to deliver some Christmas cheer this holiday season.
“I got three daughters and they’re kind of embarrassed to ride with me, but they do," Floyd said.
Floyd says he loves to see people smile.
When he drives his van around Macon, he gets lots of attention from the people he passes.
“This is what Christmas is all about,” said Arlene Johnson.
“It makes you joyful, makes you smile. It makes you say, 'Happy Holidays,' and, 'Merry Christmas,'” said Jan Ryerson.
A retired firefighter, Floyd says he likes helping people. He is now channeling his passion for helping people with the crafts he creates -- Christmas hats, a reindeer bike, and now, his Christmas Van.
While it's a little different, he says it gets people in the Christmas spirit.
“I wish everybody would just take a minute and look at themselves and thank God,” said Floyd.
He hopes beyond the smiles, people will remember to be thankful.
He says Christmas is one of his favorite holidays, but Easter is his favorite.
Don't expect a furry Easter Bunny van next -- Floyd channels his energy into a passion play at his church.
