TWIGGS COUNTY, Ga. — UPDATE: The city has issued a boil water advisory.
They say an overnight electrical shortage caused relays to the automated system to malfunction.
Because of the loss of water pressure throughout the distribution system, the city is ordering people to boil water until noon on January 16.
An issue with water tower relay in Jeffersonville has forced the early release and closure of all Twiggs County schools on Monday.
According to a post on the Jeffersonville Elementary School Facebook page, the break left all school facilities without water.
They cancelled all school activities as a result and will be sending students home as soon as possible.
They will be taken home via school bus starting at 8:15 a.m.
Parents must make arrangements to pick up their students as soon as possible.
So far, there's no word on if Tuesday's schedule or classes will be affected.
