UPDATE: 17-year-old arrested after gun found at Northside High

A student reported concerns that another student had a weapon on school property

UPDATE: Wednesday, 5:30 p.m.

According to a release from the Warner Robins Police Department, officers received a tip Tuesday around 11:45 a.m. that 17-year-old Ahmien Beasley had a gun at Northside High School.

Beasley was taken out of class, and a search was conducted.

An unloaded pistol was found in his backpack, along with bullets.

Beasley was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, under 18 in possession of a pistol and carrying a weapon in a school safety zone.

He was arrested.

An unloaded gun was found at Northside High School Tuesday.

According to Beth McLaughlin with Houston County Schools, a student reported concerns that another student had a weapon on school property.

McLaughlin said the school resource officer, along with administration and the Warner Robins Police Department, worked together to investigate the report, and found the unloaded gun.

The Warner Robins Police Department is handling the case and the principal notified parents about the incident.

McLaughlin could not say where the gun was located when it was found.
