UPDATE 9 P.M. A team of three divers were sent to Walnut Creek and successfully rescued the two children -- girls, 10 and 11 years old from Jones County -- and a puppy.

Riggins says the two were playing on rocks when the water swept them away.

They were able to grab on to a rock, and people nearby heard them screaming for help and called 911.

Riggins says the water was moving around 30-35 mph.

The two kids were being checked for hypothermia and suffered no serious injuries.

Macon-Bibb fire crews are currently preparing to make a water rescue at Walnut Creek in Bibb County.

Fire Chief Marvin Riggins says two kids are stuck on a rock in Walnut Creek behind Raintree Apartments off Graham Road in northeast Macon.

He says firefighters are suiting up and getting on a boat to rescue the pair.
