(UPDATE 9 p.m.) Sheriff Darren Mitchum says they've put a warrant out for the arrest of 46-year-old Van Johnson for allegedly shooting a man in the leg.


A man was shot Saturday after an argument in the parking lot of the Middle Georgia Motorsports Park in Jeffersonville.

Twiggs County Sheriff Darren Mitchum says deputies responded to a call of a person shot Saturday night.

He says a ‘domestic dispute between a few people’ in the parking lot turned violent and a man was shot, but his injuries are non-life threatening.

Investigators are currently working to identify the suspect and get them in custody.

The victim’s name was not available at this time.
