Warner Robins Council delays budget vote again

Mayor Randy Toms says Council still deciding on key aspects of new budget, including enterprise funds and unfilled positions

On Monday, Warner Robins mayor and council delayed a vote on the fiscal year 2019 budget.

Mayor Randy Toms said the continuance is due to continued discussions over how to spend enterprise funds and which unfilled positions to stop funding.

He said the continuance of the fiscal year 2018 funding will only last a week.

Toms said mayor and council will meet for a special work session at 4 p.m. on Monday, July 9 and then take a vote at 6 p.m.

However, in the meantime, city work will continue as usual.

"What that means is they can continue operating business as usual, which means there's money in the budget to continue paying bills and paying employees and anything that needs to be done, there's still money available to do that," Toms said after Monday's meeting.

Toms told 13 WMAZ there was enough funding left over from FY2018 to fund the city another week.
