Warner Robins firefighters raise thousands for Muscular Dystrophy Association

Every year since 1995, the Warner Robins fire department has raised over $100,000 a year for the organization.

Every year, firefighters from around the nation raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Well, the first responders over in Warner Robins are going above and beyond for the cause.

Every year since 1995, the Warner Robins Fire Department has raised over $100,000 a year for the organization.

They say that makes them not only the largest contributing fire department in Georgia but in the nation.

From boot drives to car washes and selling calendars, Chief Ross Moulton says a lot of the money goes towards allowing the kids to go to camp for a week, a day he looks forward to all year.

"It's just great seeing them in that atmosphere because they are all having a great time. We have a water war -- one of the last days where a fire truck comes out and they spray water, and we have water balloons and water guns, things like that, and we kinda fight with all the kids. We have to wrap the wheel cars up with bags to keep them from getting destroyed. We just have a great time with them," he laughs.

In the 30 years they have been collecting for this cause, Moulton says they have raised over $3 million.
