Wesley Glen to host annual Fish Fry fundraiser

The fundraiser will have performances and baked goods up for sale.

Fried fish, baked goods, and hand-dipped corn dogs will all be available at Wesley Glen’s annual Fish Fry fundraiser Saturday.

Wesley Glen is a non-profit organization that helps adults with developmental disabilities. They have a day program and a residential program.

Proceeds from the Fish Fry go towards keeping their programming running, as well as creating new programming for the people they serve.

“We’re able to provide them a standard of care that is really beneficial to them and to their families,” said Julie Rogers, Director of Development for Wesley Glen. “And we look forward to having that additional funding to do more projects with them.”

The event will be held in the gym at the Life Skills Center on Wesley Glen’s campus on North Mumford Road.

There will be a performance from their Cornerstone choir. They will have several auxiliary groups and churches selling baked goods.

Wesley Glen expects 400 to 500 attendees.

Rogers said their residents look forward to the fish fry.

“Oh, they love the fish fry. That is one of their favorite events of the year, they talk about it throughout the year,” Rogers said. “And they love having their families come, they love introducing their families to the staff and to their other friends, and it’s a really great time.”

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Adult plates are $8 and kids plates are $5.

You can buy tickets at the door or by calling Wesley Glen at 478-471-3711.
