A woman died in an RV fire Sunday on I-75 northbound in Perry.

According to a report from Perry Fire and Emergency Services, it happened around 4:16 p.m. under the South Perry Parkway overpass near mile marker 134.

Initially, there were reports of smoke coming from under the RV, but the report states the calls quickly changed to smoke and flames being visible.

Crews arrived and began to put out the fire.

Once the fire was out, crews found a woman's body lying on the floor inside the back of the RV. The body was removed from the scene by the deputy coroner.

GDOT engineers arrived shortly after and determined the bridge was safe for travel. All lanes re-opened for normal traffic around 9 p.m.

The woman has not been identified pending notification of the next of kin.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
