An argument over a child’s swimming pool led to a fight and a man’s arrest, according to a police report from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The report says that Cpl. C.J. Lewis responded to a fight at 2503 Kensington Road between Jada Gilmore, 21, and her uncle Keith Booze, 43, around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
In the report, Gilmore said the fight began when Keith demanded that she take her child’s pool back to the store for money to buy crack cocaine.
When she refused, he told her that she owed him money from taking down the pool previously, the report says.
An argument began and the report says that Booze pushed Gilmore back into the house. Gilmore was hit several times in the face and ran away from Booze before hitting him in the face causing him to bleed.
Booze allegedly went inside the house and returned with a kitchen knife threatening to “slice her up” and “cut her throat.” Gilmore tried to leave in her car and Booze began stabbing the pool, causing her to call 911, the report says.
The report says Booze denied having a knife or damaging the pool. Lewis was approached by Tashay Little, Booze’s 28-year-old niece, who recorded the fight on her cell phone. The footage verified Gilmore’s story.
Booze was placed into custody and allegedly kicked the cage in the backside of the police car.
He was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex and charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, simple battery and criminal trespass.
