A mother and son were found dead in their home on Evergreen Drive Tuesday afternoon.
According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, the two have been dead for at least 9 days and it appears to be due to natural causes. Jones says the power had been cut off in the home two weeks ago, and the heat caused to bodies to severely decompose.
"I say this every year, check on your neighbors," says Jones.
He identified the deceased as 50-year-old Frank Roberts and his mother, 65-year-old Shirley Haynes. Jones says the two were found in different bedrooms, and Haynes was wheelchair bound.
According to Jones, there were no signs of foul play, gun shot wounds, or stab wounds.
Animals inside the home were taken to Macon-Bibb Animal Welfare.
