The banana pudding made with Nutter Butter cookies stole the show at the 2016 Georgia Banana Pudding Contest in Irwinton.
Each of the 12 banana pudding entries were rated on appearance, meringue quality, taste, texture and originality.
Kelly Crumbley was the first place winner after Saturday morning's contest and she says she's been perfecting this recipe over the years.
Crumbley says banana pudding is her husband's favorite dessert, so it's definitely a favorite at her house. She also says she didn't plan on entering the Georgia Banana Pudding Contest until she saw the story on the 13 WMAZ mobile app.
Crumbley will have some time to fine tune her recipe over the next few months before she heads to the National Banana Pudding Festival in Centerville, Tennessee, the first weekend in October.
