Pro-library protesters organize outside of commission meeting

They chanted, "We will not be shushed."

Commissioners met to vote on an amendment that would restore funding to libraries.

Outside of the commission meeting, protestors gathered carting signs, and yelling, “Support your libraries, hold your mayor accountable,” and, “We will not be shushed.”

By the end of the meeting, commissioners voted 7-2 to approve $2.8 million to fund the libraries that were previously cut from the budget. Valerie Wynn and Joe Allen voted no on the amendment.
