Suzanne Lawler is an anchor at 13WMAZ in Macon, Ga.
She traveled north from the Sunshine State in 1994 to work at WMAZ.
She began her broadcasting adventures at a cable station in her hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida.
At Vision Cable, she hosted a community affairs show, an entertainment show, and a news magazine program. She also filled in for the sports anchor.
Suzanne was born and raised in St. Petersburg.
After high school, she played basketball for St. Petersburg Junior College and continued her education at the University of Florida Journalism School (much to the frustration, she says, of local Georgia fans!).
The Associated Press, The Cable Ace and the Georgia Association of Broadcasters have all recognized Suzanne for her reporting in the field.
Suzanne also won an Edward R. Murrow regional award for a story from the Little League World Series. Additionally, the national Children's Miracle Network organization recognized the journalist for a music video.
The native Floridian loves to travel and that led to Suzanne writing two books on Adventures and places to visit in Central Georgia -- they are titled "Cotton Cornbread and Conversations" and "More Cotton Cornbread and Conversations."
When she's not covering news and sports, Suzanne volunteers with the Girl Scouts of Central Georgia.
It's hard for Suzanne to sit still, so on her days off she loves to bass fish from her kayak, romp around with her dog Wags, and take care of her vegetable garden.
