EASTMAN, Ga. — It all started with some bad smells in the Dodge County courthouse.

Now, several county departments are moving out due to problems with pigeon droppings.

County manager Spencer Barron says people started noticing the smell a couple weeks back and they traced to it to the attic of the century-old building.

They found large amounts of droppings, and both dead and live pigeons.

Barron says they're testing the building to see if there are any health risks to workers on the first and second floors.

Until they get it cleared, he says about two dozen county workers will work out of the Chamber of Commerce building.
