The Bears fell short to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Tuesday night to split the series as Tech won 16-8. Mercer is now 7-1 against in-state teams.

The Bears got on the board first in the 2nd as Jordan Ammons and Alex Hanson each drove in a couple of runs.

The Bears would hold the lead until the 5th inning when Georgia Tech's Kyle McCann blasts a grand slam to tie the game. Mercer would retake the lead in the bottom half of the inning, as Lee Bassett drove in the 5th run for the Bears with an RBI single.

But the Yellow Jackets would get back on top in the 6th and started to pull away as they scored 4 runs in the 7th, and 9th innings. The Bears will get back to Southern Conference play on Friday when they travel to Samford.
