Central Georgia schools shine in GHSA State Golf

The Pyon sisters held Rutland capture the GHSA AAA Girls State Golf Championship.
The Rutland Girls captured the State Championship

Eujin, Carroll and Jenny Pyon led the Rutland Hurricanes to the GHSA 3A State Golf Championship Tuesday. Eujin Pyon finished second overall and Carol finished fourth.

Several other Central Georgia schools also fared well on the links. The FPD boys finished second to Holy Innocents in the Class A Private school competition. Wilson Andress and Jay Spivey finished fifth and sixth overall.

Bleckley County's girls finished second in the Double A field behind St. Vincent's. Brooke Krieg finished second overall. The Veterans girls finished second in Class 5A behind Starr's Mill with Mailey Buzzell finishing second in the individual competition and the Stratford girls finished second among all Class A Private Schools behind Darlington. Josie Coleman finished tied for sixth.
