Peach County Head Football Coach Chad Campbell retires after 30 years

After 30 years, Campbell’s record was 168-38.

PEACH COUNTY, Ga. — Longtime Peach County High School Head Football Coach Chad Campbell has announced his retirement. He confirmed the news via phone call with 13WMAZ's Marvin James.

Campbell led Peach County to a state championship in his third season, defeating Gainesville. He finished his career in the black-and-gold with three runners-up finishes and 10 region titles in 16 seasons as its football coach.

After 30 years, Campbell’s record was 168-38.

Peach County was 8-4 this season after winning the Region 2-3A crown. However, Peach made a second round exit with a loss to Savannah Christian.

Campbell's older brother Lee Campbell, who served as Peach County’s defensive coordinator, is also retiring after more than 30 years of coaching.

Prior to joining Peach County in 2015, Lee served as a head football coach with Dodge County, Crisp County, and Hawkinsville where he won back-to-back state titles with the Red Devils in 2003 and 2004.

The two brothers are recognized across the state as one of the few sets of siblings who both have won state championships as head coaches
