Mercer used solid pitching outings from Megan Bilgri and Jill McElderry Friday afternoon as each tossed shutout gems as the Bears took both games of a double header against ETSU. It's the first time Mercer is 5-0 in the Southern Conference in program history.
Mercer won the first game 2-0, and then scored all 3 of their runs in the 3rd inning of the 2nd game to hold on to a 3-0 win.
Bilgri improved to 8-4 on the year, and McElderry is now 8-2 on the season. In 14 innings, the Bears limited the Bucs to 5 hits.
Mercer will look to get the sweep with the series finale taking place Saturday at 1 p.m.
