Mercer Softball: Bears Sweep ETSU, Stay undefeated in SoCon

Mercer's bats came alive at the right time to beat ETSU in Series Finale

It was a pitcher's duel early on but Mercer scored two runs in the 3rd and 6th innings which propelled them to their 7th straight win as they took down ETSU 4-1.

Caroline Taylor got the scoring started for the Bears hitting a rocket over left center, her 8th homerun on the season, to give the Bears a 2-0 lead.

Mercer then got on the board again in the bottom of the 6th as Micayla Rood doubled home an RBI. She then scored off a RBI single from Allie Jones.

The Bucs threatened in the top half of the 7th with bases loaded with one out, but the Bears held them off giving up one run to win 4-1.

Stella Preson gave up two hits, and just one earned run in the complete game. The Bears improved to 25-10, marking the best start in program history in 35 games.\

The Bears will take on Georgia State on Wednesday in Atlanta.
