Ex-Atlanta Braves pitcher Tom Glavine speaks at Little League fundraiser in Dublin

The Dudley Little League held their First Pitch fundraiser dinner in Dublin Tuesday, and the keynote speaker was Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Glavine.

DUBLIN, Ga. — The Dudley Little League held their First Pitch fundraiser dinner in Dublin Tuesday. 13WMAZ's Chief Meteorologist Ben Jones served as the event's emcee.

All the proceeds will go to the Little League Organization to help future ballers learn the sport.

The keynote speaker was Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Glavine, who spent 22 years in the major leagues, the majority of his time with the Atlanta Braves.

If you watched Glavine on the pitcher's mound, you know all about his calm demeanor. He says keeping the poker face was an approach he tried to keep throughout his career.

"I mean, I got excited out there, no question about it, but I tried to keep my emotions in check as best I could. For whatever reason, I had a minor league coach early on that told all of our ptchers in the minor league, 'Just go out there and act like you're doing what you wanna be doing. Don't get too high. Don't get too low. Those guys in the other dugout are looking for a reason to beat you don't give them one,'" Glavine said.

Glavine says he's excited to see what the Braves will do this season.
