Last year, central Georgia saw plenty of playoff success, including Macon County winning the Class A-Public state championship, John Milledge Academy winning the GISA AAA state championship, along with Tattnall Square Academy, Northside, Mary Persons and Peach County making it to the semifinals in their respective classifications.

Since that time, winter, spring and summer have come and gone and we here at 13WMAZ are ready for another exciting season of high school football here in central Georgia.

For week 1, we will start the evening live at McConnell-Talbert Stadium in Warner Robins for #Tailgate13, which airs on Eyewitness News at 5 and 6 p.m. right here on 13WMAZ.

At 7:30 p.m., The Warner Robins Demons and the Northside Eagles will face off for their annual cross-town rivalry game.

Once #Tailgate13 ends, our Football Friday Night team will hit the roads to check out some fantastic high school football action! Here's where you will be able to find our reporters:

We will also be keeping our eyes on the rest of central Georgia's teams hitting the field on Friday night, along with the two games taking place Thursday night during the Corky Kell Classic at Mercer's Five Star Stadium.

You can catch the highlights of all 10 games the FFN team attends on Football Friday Night at 11:35 p.m. on 13WMAZ.

Frank Malloy, Ben Jones, Marvin James and Jonathan Perez will take you through the games and add in some scores on the Zaxby's Football Friday Night scoreboards, introduce you to the Chevrolet Fan of the Week, give the Jeff Smith Ford Quiz Question and Answer, the Central Georgia Technical College Play of the Day and the McDonald's Ribrocker.

Keep that television tuned to 13WMAZ after Eyewitness News at 11 to check out how your favorite team fared on the field this week
