Crews clean up after tractor-trailer fire on I-75 N in Macon

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says the fire happened Saturday afternoon near the Hartley Bridge Road exit

MACON, Ga. — Macon-Bibb emergency crews are cleaning up Saturday after a tractor-trailer caught on fire on I-75 North near the Hartley Bridge Road exit.

Lieutenant Sean Defoe with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office says there was no accident, and they think it was an engine fire.

The truck is currently sitting on the off-ramp at Hartley Bridge Road, and traffic is being redirected.

Defoe says the truck was carrying watermelons.
