Man killed in Wilkinson County wreck

Deputy Coroner Dusty Thomas confirms a man is dead after a wreck in Toomsboro

TOOMSBORO, Ga. — A man is dead after a wreck in Wilkinson County on Saturday.

Deputy Coroner Dusty Thomas confirms a man is dead after a wreck involving three motorcycles and a car in Toomsboro on Lords Cemetery Road and Highway 57.

Georgia State Patrol says the man has been identified as 51-year-old Jaime Garcia from Marietta.

The agency says the motorcycles were traveling east on Highway 57 when a 1988 Ford F-150 pickup truck going west made a left turn in front of them around 9:30 a.m.

Garcia, one of the motorcyclists, was pronounced dead on scene, and the other two motorcyclists were taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health in Macon for treatment.

The driver of the pickup truck is 80-year-old Joe Ben Fordham of Toomsboro. Georgia State Patrol says he had some injuries, but he was not taken to the hospital.

The agency also says charges are pending after an investigation by the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is finished.
