After a scorching hot week, the heat continues to ramp up heading into Memorial Day weekend.

Friday afternoon will feature near record heat with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 90s. Expect a mostly sunny sky with just a spot shower or storm.

Starting on Saturday we'll have triple digit heat in play, and that will be the story for all of Memorial Day weekend. We'll forecast a high of 100 on Saturday, and 101 on Sunday.

With sunshine and only a passing storm over the weekend, make sure you're drinking water and wearing sunscreen if you're doing anything outside.

Memorial Day will trend even hotter with a high around 102, and again the rain chance is only at 10 percent so we're pretty much all dry.

The long term outlook remains the same, we'll continue to forecast highs in the triple digits into mid-week next week. Rain chances stay very limited with the NOAA rainfall forecast showing no measurable rain for central Georgia.

We'll have to keep a close eye on the drought monitor over the next several week with much of our area already dealing with 'abnormally dry' conditions.
