Meteorologist Hunter Williams joined 13WMAZ in June of 2017. You can watch Hunter on weekend evenings at 6 and 11 p.m. and during special weather reports throughout the week.

Hunter is originally from Birmingham, Alabama and received his meteorology degree from Penn State University. Prior to joining the weather team at WMAZ, Hunter served as a weather anchor for WVUA 23 News in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Hunter also worked as an intern in the meteorology departments at both ABC 33/40 and Fox 6 WBRC in his hometown of Birmingham.

Hunter first realized he wanted to pursue a career in meteorology on April 27th, 2011. On this date an historic tornado outbreak took place across his home state of Alabama. Hunter recalls sitting on his living room floor watching live coverage of the Tuscaloosa EF-4 tornado as it tore through the city. This particular experience was transformative for Hunter, and ultimately sparked his passion for weather.

While at Penn State, Hunter loved experiencing winter weather and fell in love with snow storms. Since moving to Georgia, Hunter is happy to be back enjoying warmer weather in the southeast.
