Students and teachers are ready for summer

School is almost out for summer, which means students and teachers are anxious for some time off

Teachers and students across central Georgia will soon turn a new page in their daily routine.

The doors of summer will soon be open, and some students are looking forward to soaking up some sun.

"I like swimming, and I like having a good time with my friends and family," said Skyview Elementary student Maggie Walden.

Some look forward to a little thrill, like hitting the Florida theme parks with family, while others are taking a little more of an educational approach.

"I'm going to learn about a lot of stuff and read second grade books," said Union Elementary first grader Aniya Garcia-Williams.

"I'll read a couple books and go on vacation," said fifth grader Zion Newbill.

Meanwhile, Skyview Elementary student Akari Neilly is just excited to catch up on some rest.

"There's no school, and you get to sleep in all day," Neilly said.

Teachers also have their wishes for when they finally walk out the front door for summer vacation.

"I look forward to being outside, enjoying my kids, going swimming at the lake and camping," said first grade teacher Jessica Harrelson.

"The thing I'm excited about is getting to be with my family," said teacher Corless Rollins.
