Kasandra Ortiz joined the 13WMAZ news team as a multimedia journalist in January 2016.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida.
While at the University of North Florida, Kasandra worked with her school-run television station and newspaper. During that time she also worked as a producer at First Coast News in Jacksonville and eventually went on to intern with Dateline in New York City.
Kasandra is originally from Camden, New Jersey but has enjoyed working and living in the south.
When Kasandra is not out chasing down a story she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling, shopping, and salsa dancing.
