UPSON COUNTY, Ga. — One couple in Upson County said they woke up to a scene right out of "The Wizard of Oz" when a house was picked up by the storm and landed right on Highway 74.
Around 2:30 Monday morning, Steve and Debra Daniel took cover in their home near Thomaston.
"Everyone describes a freight train, and that’s exactly what it sounds like, and by the time we heard it and moved to our safe place, it had already hit and it was blowing out windows in our home," said Steve.
20 seconds later, they say the worst was over.
"We were in shock for about the first two or three minutes and made sure we were OK."
They walked outside with flashlights to look at the damage and they said thankfully, their house wasn’t damaged too badly, but when they looked to their left, they saw their rental property next door was gone.
"I saw the house and I told my wife it was actually in the middle of Highway 74."
The storm took the small white house off of its foundation and blew it onto the road almost completely intact.
Once the sun came up, crews brought bulldozers to knock down the house and move it out of the road.
The house used to belong to Steve’s mother, and right now, they have someone renting the property.

Steve said as far as he knows, the renter is OK, but he isn't sure if they were in the house when the storm hit.
He said everyone is safe, but it’s hard to see the house destroyed.
"It’s hard to watch, we’re just thankful again to be alive and we just… it makes you appreciate life and appreciate God," said Steve.
Trees and power lines were down all over Upson County, but there were no injuries reported in the county.
