Downtown Macon has a lot of bars, but none quite like this.
Reboot Retrocade and Bar on Cherry Street opens Friday.
"We have 25 machines on the floor right now, and it's been about a year's worth of finding them and getting them going," says owner, Jeremy Smith.
Smith says he wanted to bring something new to downtown, so he combined his self-proclaimed "nerdiness" into a business with a bar and a lot of buttons.
According to Smith, the games will cost 25 cents a play.
"They range anywhere from the late '70s to early '80s and '90s. We really try to stay below the 1995 simply because we're a retro arcade and I feel like that's the heyday of arcades," says Smith.
The retrocade will also feature "nerdy" cocktails.
"They're based off of general games and nerd-doms. We have a couple of Harry Potters, Start Treks, Star Wars, even a Game of Thrones," says Smith.
So whether you come in for a cocktail, or a competition, Reboot Retrocade is here to entertain.
