Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Roquan Smith was drafted No. 8 overall to the Chicago Bears during the NFL Draft on Thursday.
Smith, the Butkus Award winner and SEC Defensive Player of the Year, left Georgia after his junior year to enter the NFL.
Smith was the team's leading tackler in 2017 with 137 total tackles, 14 for a loss.
He was in attendance for the Draft in AT&T Stadium in Dallas. Head coach Kirby Smart was also in attendance to see Georgia's highest draft pick since Leonard Floyed was picked by the Chicago Bears at No. 9 in 2016.
Georgia could be in store for an historic Draft. Read more about that here.
