UPDATE | Man in custody after shooting at Dublin manufacturing plant

Dublin Police Chief Tim Chatman says a suspect is in custody

DUBLIN, Ga. — UPDATE: One person is in custody after an overnight shooting at the YKK manufacturing plant in Dublin.

According to Capt. James Champion with Dublin Police, the call came in around midnight. 

He says 22-year-old Philip Brantley fired a shot at work, hitting a co-worker in the back.

The victim was airlifted from the scene to the Medical Center in Macon. Their condition is unknown at this time.

Champion says said both men were temp employees at the plant.

What is YKK and what do they do? YKK manufactures facades for businesses, as well as doors and windows for homes. 

The company is based in Austell, Georgia, and there are two production facilities in Dublin and Macon.

The facility in Dublin was renovated less than a month ago with new floors, work stations and lighting.
