MACON, Ga. — Authorities are investigating after a man was killed at a Macon prison Wednesday.
According to Bibb Coroner Leon Jones, an inmate was stabbed to death at Central State Prison on Fulton Mill Road.
Georgia Department of Corrections confirmed this information to 13WMAZ. They said, "The GDC can confirm the death of an inmate at Central SP today, however, because the incident is under investigation, there are no details available at this time."
Jones identified the man as 34-year-old Joshua Carl Haynes Lester, of Dalton, Georgia. He says Lester was stabbed by another inmate and died at the prison.
