Georgia Academy for the Blind students celebrate prom

It's a night students look forward to all year long.

Students at the Georgia Academy for the Blind spent Thursday night singing the hits and getting down to some old classics, too.

It was prom night for the roughly 40 high schoolers.

They celebrated each other and the school's senior class.

GAB teacher Lauren Eckman says it's a night students look forward to all year long. Though it takes some planning, she says it's a joy to get to see the kids having fun.

Mia Clemons' 9th grade son Caden Washington was one of the students out on the dance floor.

It was his first prom and she says she's already looking forward to what his high school years have in store.

"I'm so excited for him," she said. "I'm glad he decided to come and I'm looking forward to his 12th grade year. He's in 9th grade, so I'm looking forward to it."

As for Caden?

He said he was most looking forward to the dancing and the food.
