Macon woman crashes stolen ambulance into tree, hits ambulance worker with steel rod

The report says they found meth and cocaine in the woman's system.

MACON, Ga. — A Macon woman was arrested and charged after crashing a stolen ambulance into a tree and hitting an ambulance worker with a steel rod, according to Bibb County Sheriff's report.

In a report from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, they said Jessica Lynn Lusher was charged with Felony Theft and Simple Battery.

The ambulance was parked outside Eastside Dialysis located at 165 Emery Highway. As the two Southeast Ambulance workers were picking up their patient, Lusher allegedly jumped into the ambulance and drove off.

The report says Lusher did not make it far before she crashed into a tree. One ambulance worker said he ran after Lusher but when he caught up to her, she hit him with a steel rod. The ambulance worker was sent home from work for the remainder of the day after receiving medical attention.

The deputy says in the report that Lusher appeared to be demented or high when he arrived on the scene. They took Lusher to a local hospital and found she had meth and cocaine in her system.

She is currently being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

The ambulance worker who was hit by the woman reached out to 13WMAZ and said he was glad no one else was seriously injured.
