Former Bibb County teacher sentenced to 50 years on child molestation charges

Jackson was sentenced to 50 years with the first 25 years to be served in prison. He will be on the Georgia’s Sex Offender Registry for the rest of his life.

MACON, Ga. — A former Bibb County school teacher pled guilty to child molestation on March 25 along with several other charges, according to a release from the Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.

55-year-old Charles B. Jackson, a former Ballard Hudson Middle School teacher, pled guilty in Bibb Superior Court to child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes and sexual contact by a person in a position of trust for crimes he committed with a minor female in 2022.

According to the release, he was a teacher at the time and worked with the Junior Officers’ Training Corps.

During the plea hearing, Assistant District Attorney Breanna Foster showed that Jackson committed the acts at both school and at a local church.

The release says the victim had previously been molested by her father and Jackson took advantage of her vulnerability while in a position of trust as her school teacher.

Jackson was sentenced to 50 years with the first 25 years to be served in prison. He will be on Georgia’s Sex Offender Registry for the rest of his life.
