JONES COUNTY, Ga. — A Jones County man is now serving a life sentence for sexual crimes against a child, according to the Jones County Superior Court.
Michael Lester was convicted of sexual crimes against a Jones County child during the span of Jan. 13, 2014, to Jan. 12, 2015.
A grand jury indicted him in December 2021 for felony aggravated child molestation of a child under the age of 16. Lester was convicted earlier this year and was sentenced on Thursday.
Lester turned 59 years old on Friday.
Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit Judge, Terry Massey, sentenced Lester to life with the first 35 years to be served in prison before he is eligible for parole.
