Newton County inmate who escaped hospital captured, sheriff's office says

The sheriff's office said that Kendrick Hurst was wearing a bright lime green jumpsuit when he escaped.

The Newton County Sheriff's Office said an 35-year-old inmate who escaped custody has been captured. 

Deputies asked for the public's help to find Kendrick Hurst, who escaped from Piedmont Newton Hospital on Saturday afternoon.

As of Friday, Deputies said Hurst had been captured, according to a Facebook post.

Hurst was previously arrested on April 28 and charged with terroristic threats and acts, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, and a number of traffic violations.

The sheriff's office said Hurst was wearing a bright lime green jumpsuit and had a lip piercing and tattoos on his face at the time of his escape.

The Newton County Sheriff's Office worked with the Covington Police Department, Conyers Police Department and Georgia State Patrol during their search to find him.
