DACULA, Ga. — Students at a Dacula school received medical attention after consuming drug-infused candy, the administration said in a letter sent to  parents and guardians on Monday.

Dacula Middle School officials did not say specifically when the incident occurred but stated that the school was "wrapping up an investigation into a concerning incident involving several students and have taken action to address unacceptable behavior."

It went on to say a few students had brought edibles to school, and as a result, students who took them got sick. The school said they were seen by my medical staff and expected to be ok.

The students who brought the drug-infused candy were given "maximum school disciplinary consequences," Dacula Middle School said. It adds that "giving it (the candy) to others is not only a violation of our student discipline code, it is also against the law."
