Folks in Warner Robins gather to donate blood for woman with kidney disease

Over 40 people signed up to donate blood, and even more showed up.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Folks in Warner Robins on Saturday lined up to give blood for Shannon Lewis, who has kidney disease and bone marrow suppression.

Lewis is 32 years old, and her parents organized the blood drive to support their daughter. Her dad gave blood to help, and her mom, Valerie Ford, was the one who organized the event. 

Over 40 people signed up to donate blood, and even more showed up.

There were 3 collection staff members on site, helping people donate and keeping track of donations.

There was also lots of snacks, juices, and water for folks as they sat after giving blood. 

The drive was at 205 N Davis Drive in Warner Robins.
