Shamrock 'n' Ride: Folks dressed in green hit the streets of Macon for a scavenger hunt

The event serves as Bike Walk Macon's signature fundraiser, and is fun for the whole family.

MACON, Ga. — Lots of folks donned their silliest green outfits and tennis shoes Saturday morning as they headed out for Bike Walk Macon's Shamrock 'n' Ride. 

Teams banded together to tackle a 2 and a half hour scavenger hunt, with over 50 destinations and challenges.

People had to navigate a five mile radius of downtown Macon, exploring obscure spots and finding hidden items. 

Folks could form bicycling or walking teams of 2-4 members, and began their journey at Fall Line Brewery. They had to be back at JBA by 1 p.m. or they lost points.

Lots of teams could be seen working together to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles around town.

This was the third year Bike Walk Macon has had the event. It was originally scheduled for two weeks ago, but got rained out and rescheduled for Saturday. 

As teams returned to JBA they were greeted with a pizza rewards party where lots of local businesses donated prizes and gift certificates for the top competitors and the top fundraising team.
