Georgia-Georgia Tech baseball game canceled, fans react

The Yellow Jackets and Bulldogs could not agree on a date to finish the March 1 game after the umpires suspended it at the top of the fifth.

ATLANTA — University officials announced Monday that the Georgia vs. Georgia Tech baseball game, originally set for March 1, has been officially canceled and will not be made up

The Yellow Jackets and Bulldogs could not agree on a date to finish the game after the umpires suspended it at the top of the fifth.

"Per Georgia Tech rainout policy, tickets for the game may be exchanged for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining regular season game at Mac Nease Baseball Park this season while tickets are still available," Georgia Tech said in a news release. 

Rainout tickets can be exchanged from the Georgia Tech ticket office by emailing tickets@athletics.gatech.edu or calling 1-888-TECH-TIX.

Georgia Tech will play Mercer on Tuesday, March 12. The first pitch is at 6 p.m.
