KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A local veteran celebrated his 102nd birthday with family and friends on Friday.
Albert Gill served as a navigator aboard a B-24 bomber and recorded 43 combat missions in World War II.
Gill is a husband, father, grandfather and a prolific builder of model airplanes. He's made almost 300 different models by hand. His favorite piece in his collection is a B-24 replica.
Gill's secret to living to 102? "A little shot of bourbon every night," he said, with a laugh.
