ANDERSONVILLE, Ga. — Andersonville National Historic Site announced on Monday they'll be keeping Andersonville National Cemetery open during the government shutdown.
In a press release, the site says they'll continue to be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and provide funeral services.
They'll be using funds from the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act to maintain the grounds and employ staff for the cemetery.
While the cemetery will stay open, the remainder of the site, including the Prisoner of War Museum and Camp Sumter Prison site, will remained closed.
