15-year-old shot and killed in Cobb County over Memorial Day weekend identified

A police report obtained by 11Alive identifies the victim as Charles Brown.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A police report released to 11Alive identifies the 15-year-old shot and killed at a home in Cobb County over Memorial Day weekend as Charles Brown.

The report notes Brown is an Austell resident. According to Cobb County Police, the 15-year-old was found shot in the face at an address on Quiet Creek Court last Sunday morning, around 11:35 a.m.

He was rushed to a hospital but later died from his injury, according to a release from the Cobb County Police Department.

The police report adds few other new details, except that the teenager was found in the basement area of the home. Officers had been responding to a "trouble unknown" call.
